PokéPark KANTO Opens! Your Ultimate Guide to Attractions, Tickets, and Essential Tips

Opens February 5, 2026
PokéPark KANTO is now open at Yomiuriland in Tokyo! Here's our guide to making the most of your visit.

The new Pokémon-themed park, PokéPark KANTO (Inside Yomiuriland, 4015-1 Yanokuchi, Inagi-shi, Tokyo), is officially opening its gates on February 5.

This is a world of adventure where you can become a Trainer and experience the world of Pokémon you once dreamed of, where these beloved creatures exist in real life. In this article, we'll cover the must-see attractions and highlights, as well as how to get tickets, access the park, and other essential preparations to ensure a smooth and enjoyable day.

PokéPark KANTO consists of three distinct areas

PokéPark KANTO is the first-ever permanent outdoor Pokémon facility, located within the Yomiuriland amusement park. This is a completely new 2.6-hectare area, built through a large-scale renovation of the existing park grounds in the lush Tama Hills of the Kanto region, plus development of previously unused land.

The park is divided into three areas: "PokéPark Entrance," "Kayatsuri Town," and "Pokémon Forest." Here, you'll find a sprawling forest and town where over 600 different Pokémon live. The park offers exclusive attractions, shows, parades, merchandise, and food, allowing guests to become "Pokémon Trainers" and embark on an adventure filled with exciting encounters.

Ticket Types

These three ticket types are sold sequentially through first-come, first-served and lottery systems on the official website.

For first-come, first-served sales, tickets for admission up to the end of the month, two months in advance, will be sold on the last day of each month. For example, on February 28 at 6:00 PM, tickets for April 28, 29, and 30 will become available.

Lottery applications for admission from opening day through April 5 have already closed. The next lottery will be for admission from May 1 onward, with applications accepted from the 1st to the 12th of each month for entry three months ahead (e.g., applications in February are for May admission).

How to Get There: First, Ride the Gondola to Enter Yomiuriland

Since PokéPark KANTO is located inside Yomiuriland, your first step is to get to the nearest station, Keio Yomiuriland Station. From there, take the dedicated "Sky Shuttle" gondola to the Yomiuriland entrance gate.

A one-way gondola trip costs ¥300 (or ¥500 for a round trip) and takes about 10 minutes to reach the Yomiuriland entrance. At the gate, simply present your PokéPark KANTO pass (any of the three types).

From the Yomiuriland entrance, it's about a 10-minute walk to the entrance of PokéPark KANTO.

Keio Yomiuriland Station is decorated with PokéPark KANTO designs both inside and outside the ticket gates. A specially decorated train will also run on the Keio and Toei Shinjuku Lines starting March 18.
Follow the signs from Keio Yomiuriland Station to the "Sky Shuttle" gondola platform. Tickets can be purchased at the machine in front of the platform.

Daily Shows, Parades, and Greetings

The "Pika Pika Sparks!" show, held at the Kayatsuri Gym in Kayatsuri Town, features Pikachu and other Pokémon dancing alongside performers in a dazzling display of lights and music. The show is held four times a day and lasts about 30 minutes.

Twice a day, the "PikaVui Bubble Carnival" parade marches through Kayatsuri Town. Watch as Pikachu and Eevee, dressed in special carnival costumes, join performers in a grand procession that circles the town.

Character greetings take place at two locations in Kayatsuri Town: the "Pokémon Friendship House" and the "PikaVui Playroom."

At the Pokémon Friendship House, you can meet different Pokémon each day, including Clefairy, Vulpix, Psyduck, Growlithe, Slowpoke, Gengar, Lapras, and Dragonite. Which Pokémon will appear is a surprise for the day of your visit.

Meanwhile, at the PikaVui Playroom, you can interact and take photos with Pikachu and Eevee in their carnival costumes. You'll also receive a photo in an original frame.

Important Notes for Visiting the "Pokémon Forest"

The lush and natural Pokémon Forest has steep inclines and many stairs. For safety reasons, children under 5 are not permitted to enter, even with a guardian. Wheelchairs and strollers are also not permitted. Entry is restricted for individuals who cannot safely navigate stairs on their own and for pregnant guests. Please review the restrictions before purchasing your ticket.

The steepest slope is quite challenging; our reporter, who is not particularly athletic, was a bit out of breath by the top. Imagine a hill so steep you would need to lean forward and take slow, deliberate steps to climb it.

To get a closer look at the "wild" Pokémon—some half-buried in the dirt, others climbing steep slopes, or soaring through the sky—we highly recommend wearing comfortable, sturdy shoes and clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty. Skirts, heels, and sandals are not advisable.

Exclusive Original Merchandise You Can Only Get Here

The park is filled with exclusive PokéPark KANTO merchandise that you won't find at Pokémon Center stores across Japan.

The largest shop is the "Pokémon Daisuki Shop," located in the PokéPark Entrance area where your adventure begins. Here you'll find headbands, pochette bags, apparel, stationery themed after the park's areas and attractions, as well as souvenirs like snacks and plush toys.

Entry to the Pokémon Daisuki Shop requires a numbered ticket (distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, one per person per day). However, some merchandise is also available at wagons in the "Pokémon Trainers' Market" in Kayatsuri Town, which you can browse at any time. Be sure to grab the exclusive pin badges available only at the market—they're a must-have!

Food and Drinks Straight from the World of Pokémon!

Food and beverages are sold at wagons and shops in the central "Kayatsuri Town." For example, the "Friendly Shop" sells recovery drinks inspired by the moves of the three Kanto region starter Pokémon: Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle.

You can also purchase PokéPark KANTO's original bottled drinks, designed after the iconic "Fresh Water," "Psycho Soda," and "Moomoo Milk" from the games.

Other offerings include grab-and-go items like popcorn, onigiri (rice balls), and baguette sandwiches. The park also plans to introduce seasonal, limited-time menu items in the future.

All food is for takeout only, as there are no sit-down restaurants inside. You can enjoy your food and drinks at the tables and chairs provided throughout the park.

Downloading the Official App is Essential Before Your Visit

The PokéPark KANTO Official App is a must-have. It not only displays your admission tickets and a digital map but is also required to enter lotteries for numbered tickets for the Kayatsuri Gym Show, the Pokémon Daisuki Shop, and the Pokémon Friendship House. Please note that the time slots for these tickets cannot be changed once assigned.

By creating or joining a group from the "My Tickets" section, one person can handle park entry and ticket applications for the entire party. You can also assign tickets to members who may not have a smartphone, such as children.

However, the Elite Trainer's Pass is not eligible for this group feature, and its tickets cannot be shared.

Free Wi-Fi and Mobile Battery Rentals Available

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the park. We confirmed connectivity from the PokéPark Entrance all the way to the deepest part of the park near the Pokémon Forest exit.

For charging your phone, a mobile battery rental service is available near the Prayer Room, next to the Pokémon Daisuki Shop in the entrance plaza.

Additionally, "ChargeSpot" stations are located inside Keio Yomiuriland Station, at a nearby Lawson convenience store, and within Yomiuriland at the Sky Gate entrance and Information Center.

Are There Coin Lockers for Storing Luggage?

There are no coin lockers inside PokéPark KANTO itself. Please use the lockers at Keio Yomiuriland Station or near the entrance and inside the main Yomiuriland park.

Coin lockers within Yomiuriland are located in one indoor area (next to the changing rooms) and scattered throughout the park. Some lockers feature a refund system, returning ¥100 of the fee when you're done. The cost is typically ¥500 (other sizes for ¥600, ¥400, and ¥300 are also available, and they are cash only).

Can I Enjoy the Park on a Rainy Day?

The park is mostly outdoors, with the exception of the greeting facilities (Pokémon Friendship House and PikaVui Playroom) and the Kayatsuri Gym show theater. Seating and dining areas consist of benches and tables with parasols.

While you might see a different side of the Pokémon on a rainy day, be aware that the parade schedule and attraction operating hours may change. Check the app for the latest information.

The Pokémon Daisuki Shop sells umbrellas and raincoats (Kids, M, L sizes), but since entry to the shop requires a timed ticket, it's a good idea to bring your own raincoat or poncho just in case of a sudden downpour.

Restrooms, Nursing Rooms, and Beverage Availability

During our preview, we noted there are no vending machines inside the park. The only bottled drinks for sale were the three original park-exclusive beverages (Fresh Water, Psycho Soda, Moomoo Milk) at a wagon in the Pokémon Trainers' Market. If you prefer other drinks like barley tea or sports drinks, we recommend purchasing them from a vending machine in the main Yomiuriland park before you enter PokéPark KANTO.

The nursing room near Pika Pika Paradise is heated and equipped with private stalls for women, changing tables, and a hot water dispenser for preparing formula. While baby food is not sold (you can bring your own), disposable diapers are reportedly available for purchase at a wagon in the Pokémon Trainers' Market.

The park also has five accessible restrooms (equipped for ostomates). Strollers and wheelchairs can be rented for ¥500 each at the "Sky Gate" entrance of Yomiuriland.

Head to the Information Wagon for Assistance

An Information Wagon is located in the Pokémon Trainers' Market in Kayatsuri Town (to the right-hand side when facing away from the Kayatsuri Gym). Head here for lost and found, lost children, or any other assistance you may need.
