First Look: Inside Professor Sekkoku's Lab at PokéPark KANTO, Where Your Adventure Begins. Get a Research Notebook and Choose Your First Partner!
2026年1月26日 20:14
- Opening February 5, 2026
On February 5, the new Pokémon-themed facility, "PokéPark KANTO" (4015-1 Yano-kuchi, Inagi-shi, Tokyo, within Yomiuriland), will officially open. Ahead of the grand opening, the park's interior was revealed to the media for the first time.
Located in the PokéPark Entrance Plaza, "Professor Sekkoku's Lab" serves as the gateway to the Pokémon Forest. Professor Sekkoku, a native of Kayatsuri Town in the Kanto region, spends his days sketching and studying the gestures and behaviors of the Pokémon living in the Pokémon Forest.
Inside the lab, you'll find a table recreating the iconic scene from the games where you choose your first partner Pokémon. There's also a recovery machine with a screen resembling an electrocardiogram displaying a Poké Ball, and a whiteboard summarizing Pokémon analysis data. The layout of these items may change depending on the professor's research progress. Please note that all equipment in the room can only be viewed from behind a rope; visitors are not permitted to touch the items or take photos with them.
Once you're ready to set off on your adventure, you'll receive a "Research Notebook" filled with Pokémon sketches from one of the lab assistants.

About PokéPark KANTO
PokéPark KANTO is Pokémon's first permanent outdoor facility, set to open within the "Yomiuriland" amusement park. It is a completely new area spanning approximately 2.6 hectares, developed by extensively renovating existing facilities and developing previously unused land in the Tama Hills of the Kanto region. The park is operated by PokéPark KANTO LLC., a joint venture between The Pokémon Company, Yomiuriland Co., Ltd., and The Yomiuri Shimbun.
The park consists of three main areas: the "PokéPark Entrance Plaza," "Kayatsuri Town," and the "Pokémon Forest." Guests can become "Pokémon Trainers" and enjoy encounters and adventures with Pokémon in a world where over 600 species of Pokémon inhabit the forests and town. The park will feature exclusive attractions, shows, parades, merchandise, and food and beverage options.
There are three types of tickets available, all of which also grant admission to the main "Yomiuriland" amusement park. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis or through a lottery system, available sequentially on the official website.
