A Look Inside Pokémon Forest at PokéPark Kanto: Observe the Unique Behaviors of Each Pokémon

Opening February 5, 2026
Introducing "Pokémon Forest," where you can observe wild Pokémon.

On February 5, "PokéPark Kanto" (4015-1 Yano-kuchi, Inagi-shi, Tokyo, inside Yomiuriland amusement park), a new Pokémon-themed facility, will open its doors. Ahead of the grand opening, the interior of the park was unveiled to the media for the first time.

Located deep within the park, Pokémon Forest is a lush woodland with diverse terrain, including uneven paths, grassy patches, tunnels, and mountain trails. The entire course is approximately 500 meters long and is divided into 10 distinct areas, such as the "Pikachu and Eevee Forest."

Each Pokémon has its own unique personality and behavior. You'll find a towering Onix, a Rhyhorn you can climb on, and other Pokémon hiding in the dirt or among the trees. Visitors can closely observe the ecology of Pokémon, primarily from the Kanto region, as they run around, engage in battles, and share Berries.

Additionally, the area is linked with the smartphone location-based game "Pokémon GO," and several PokéStops are said to be located within the forest, so be sure to look for them.

Regarding admission, the Elite Trainer Pass allows for unlimited re-entry. The Trainer's Pass requires a designated time slot (hourly from 10:00 AM) to be selected upon purchase and does not permit re-entry. The Town Pass, scheduled for release around summer, does not include admission to Pokémon Forest.

For all passes, last admission is one hour before PokéPark Kanto's closing time (until 17:00 on opening day). The park may close in case of severe weather.

Furthermore, as the forest is a natural environment with many steep inclines and a staircase of about 110 steps called "Okashina Kaidan" (Funny Stairs), it presents a physical challenge (enough to leave an out-of-shape adult breathless). For safety reasons, children under 5 are not permitted entry, even with a guardian. The area is not accessible for wheelchairs or strollers. Entry restrictions also apply to individuals who cannot safely navigate stairs alone and pregnant individuals. For more details, please check the official website.

About PokéPark Kanto

PokéPark Kanto is Pokémon's first permanent outdoor facility, located within the "Yomiuriland" amusement park. This completely new area, spanning approximately 2.6 hectares, was created by extensively renovating existing facilities and developing a previously unused area in the Tama Hills of the Kanto region. The park is operated by PokéPark Kanto LLC, a joint venture between The Pokémon Company, Yomiuriland Co., Ltd., and The Yomiuri Shimbun.

The park consists of three main areas: the "PokéPark Entrance Plaza," "Kayatsuri Town," and "Pokémon Forest." It features a forest and a town where over 600 Pokémon live, offering exclusive attractions, shows, parades, merchandise, and food. Guests can become "Pokémon Trainers" and enjoy encounters and adventures with Pokémon.

Three types of tickets are available, all of which include admission to the main "Yomiuriland" amusement park. Tickets are being sold sequentially through first-come, first-served and lottery sales on the official website.
