Tokyo Skytree to Allow Direct Entry with Smartphone QR Codes from April 1, Eliminating the Need for Paper Ticket Exchange

Changes Effective from 2026 April 1
TOKYO SKYTREE to update its admission process from April 1, allowing direct entry with web tickets.

Tobu Tower Skytree has announced that it will change the admission process for the observation decks at TOKYO SKYTREE (1-1-2 Oshiage, Sumida City, Tokyo) starting April 1.

Previously, visitors who purchased tickets online had to exchange their QR code for a physical admission ticket at the ticket counter before scanning it at the gate. Under the new system, visitors can now directly scan the QR code (web ticket) on their smartphones at the admission gate.

In conjunction with this change, the visitor flow on the 4th floor will be redesigned. The North Entrance will be permanently open, allowing access through all entrances. Furthermore, the ticket counter, currently on the west side near the gates, will be moved to the east side to facilitate a smoother entry process and better circulation within the facility.

Furthermore, a new visual experience will be unveiled in the area in front of the Tembo Shuttle (the elevators to the observation decks) on the 4th floor. Seven projectors will display four types of content on the walls, including the features of TOKYO SKYTREE, the panoramic views from the top, and an animation of the official mascot, Sorakara-chan. The content, which ranges from one to seven minutes, will be shown randomly depending on crowd conditions to build anticipation for the journey up to the observation decks.

The advance purchase window for tickets will also be extended. While tickets can currently be bought up to one month in advance, from April 1, they will be available for purchase up to three months ahead of the visit date. Tickets for the period from April 1 to May 31 will go on sale on March 2 at 12:00 PM (JST).
