USJ: Super Nintendo World's 5th Anniversary Features "Invincible" Star-Themed Exclusive Merchandise, Starting March 18

The 5th-anniversary event for Super Nintendo World at USJ kicks off on March 18.

Universal Studios Japan has announced it will hold a 5th-anniversary event for its highly popular Super Nintendo World area, starting March 18.

Under the theme "We are all STARS!", a lineup of exclusive food and merchandise inspired by the Super Star—the iconic item from the Mario games that makes you "invincible"—will go on sale from that day.

A new, exclusive anniversary design for the popular Power-Up Band will also be released. It features a vibrant, colorful design inspired by "Invincible Mario" after he grabs a Super Star. By wearing a Power-Up Band, guests can enhance their adventure in the area. They can participate in "Key Challenges," which are interactive activities hidden throughout the land, and collect digital coins and stamps based on their gameplay, all of which can be tracked on a smartphone.

Additionally, a variety of merchandise featuring the area's "map" motif will be rolled out. A standout item is the "Face Towel," accented with a Super Star patch, which is perfect for use both in the park and at home, making it an excellent souvenir.

Furthermore, a Super Star-themed popcorn bucket will be available as a special version, limited to this one year only. It lights up and flashes in multiple colors accompanied by background music. When activated, it plays the famous BGM you hear when Mario gets a Super Star and lights up in "invincibility" mode, giving you a thrilling, powered-up feeling.

For limited-time food offerings, Kinopio's Cafe will feature the "Anniversary Cake," an edible version of the giant cake monument at the area's entrance that celebrates the 5th anniversary. With its colorful decorations and sprinkled multi-colored stars, this special cake is large enough to serve four people. It's a treat that families and groups can enjoy tackling together, just like the area's attractions.

Also on the menu is a hearty plate featuring mushroom lasagna and fried chicken, designed to look like a stage from Mario's adventures, with a fluffy Super Star-shaped bread as the centerpiece.

At the Mario Cafe & Store, located outside the Super Nintendo World area, a special Super Star Pancake Sandwich will be available. These vibrant, shimmering pancakes are filled with rich mango & cream and exciting toppings, including crunchy, star-shaped sugar for a delightful texture. It's a treat that's as fun to look at as it is to eat.

In addition, guests can enjoy fruit-flavored jelly sodas inspired by the characters: Mario (strawberry), Princess Peach (peach), and Luigi (muscat grape).

Moreover, during the anniversary period, a special campaign will be held where guests can receive an "exclusive sticker." To participate, simply find a "star" anywhere in the area and show it to a park crew member. Any "star" will do—it could be on a popcorn bucket, a food item, merchandise you're carrying, or even a star in a photo you've taken.

If you can't find a physical star, the park suggests getting creative! You can team up with your friends and family to make a star pose with your hands or bodies. The key is to work together.
